Meet Luna, part nerd, part riot grrrl. She dreams of squat parties, fears social interaction, and communicates in pop culture references. All her friends are imaginary until one day, when social reject Chess arrives in her classroom, and decides she needs to come out of her shell.

Chess is louder, bolder, and unafraid of being watched, and their friendship quickly becomes its own kind of world, intense and insulating. Together, they begin to test boundaries, rewriting the rules of belonging, loyalty, and who gets to decide what growing up is supposed to look like.
